I woke up at 8:30 yesterday, Sunday November 5th,.

After cuddling in bed with Duderino and Duderina for a long time- with the secret and soon dashed hope of being able to go back to sleep- I decided to make breakfast.

Hubby went out grocery shopping with Duderina while I invited my Sunday morning bests friends to my kitchen.

Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong responded favorably to my invitation and brought their unique warm and good vibes.

Duderino sits on the floor, quietly playing with his sister’s figurines.

My spatulas are following my dancing arms and soon, happy buckwheat and regular pancakes are on their respective pans. Some are even shaped liked Mickey Mouse, Duderino’s favorite character.

Outside, the rain is on and off.

Then Hubby’s omelet and bacon are ready and Duderina’s table is set.

When we’re done eating, it’s around 10:30.

I don’t know why I fell the urge to clean our place. Now.

Laundry first. Clothes, bath and bed linen.

During the intervals between washing, drying, folding, Hubby brings the bags with winter clothing out of the closets.

Time to replace our summer wardrobe by a warmer one and check if we’re reading for the winter.

Hours of emptying closets, sorting out, replacing, folding, donating, labeling, organizing.

When I’m done, it’s 4:30 PM.

I decide I want to have a homemade chili con carne, with melted cheese and nachos.

Hubby goes grocery shopping again.

Ok, chili is ready. Let Hubby supervise the cooking.

Go to the coffee shop to write my post of the day.

Back home, it’s around 7:30.

Kids are in bed.

Dinner time for hubby and I.

Then we watch an episode of the TV show we’ve started following.

Then I realize I’m tired.

But I don’t want to sleep.

I just need quietness after this hustle and frenetic activity.

It’s great because I have 5 minutes of energy left.

Just enough to make myself a mix of tea, rosemary and thyme.

Heat my lavender heated pad for the first time this year.

Go to our bedroom.

Take the book I started a few days ago.

Read in silence.

Sip my tea in silence.

Enjoy the rest of my evening in silence.

Centering and very relaxing.

For a more relaxing drink, you can replace tea by any infusion you like.

I like mixing herbs and plants from my fridge and pantry to make personalized infusions,

Use: fennel seeds, star anise, anise, cardamom, cinnamon, verbena, rosemary, lavender, chamomile, rose leaves, thyme…Fresh or dried.

I don’t have a specific recipe to share as I never remember what I mix. Follow your intuition and your smell.

One of my rules in the kitchen: if the smell of a mix is pleasant, the taste will be great.
