have a kitchen party
Bring a dish and a bottle of wine
My friends, when you have guests over and if you have a big kitchen -which is not my case- go directly to the best part of the evening: when the party is over and you sit in the kitchen to talk.
Because the kitchen is a place where magic happens.
It’s the place where everyday, you bring different raw ingredients, combine them and create something new, tasty and unique.
The list of possibilities and combinations is endless.
Sometimes, the result is a good dish your guests like, sometimes it could have been better and other times, the results are unforgettable,
In a kitchen, this possible outcome is valid for meals. But it is for parties too.
Bring your guests and add your spices: jokes or riddles, some music, appetizers, fun anecdotes, good wine.
And let the magic happen.
Sometimes, the result is a good party your guests enjoy, sometimes it could have been better and other times, the results are unforgettable.
That was the case of yesterday.
Our ingredients? A group of people gathering around a friend, Mehdi.
From the Caribbean, where he lives, Mehdi brought sun, music and laughter and helped us all go through the winter.
Yesterday was his farewell party.
And what could have been a moment tinged with sadness was a memorable get-together.
Where we danced, laughed and sang out loud.
Yesterday, I had a 4-hour sleep night and still, today, I am fresh and energized.
How is that possible?
Well my friends, kitchens are places where the magic really happens.

MORE ABOUT THIS
I want to share the game we played yesterday at my friend Sophies’ Kitchen Party.
For this game you need a speaker sound system, a cool playlist and an entertainer (my new friend Mimi rocks at that.)
The rules are simple: the entertainer plays a song and people have to guess its title or the name of the singer.
It sounds like an ordinary, average, game but try it and see what happens: you will find yourself shouting, yelling at your neighbor because you recognized the song first, you will stop playing and start dancing, to resume the game again and you won’t be able to stop until you really have to go or your babysitter will never accept to come ever again.
